Notice that almost all the negative reviews of this book do not actually review the book, but go off on a personal rant about something else. The new chracter of Pierce, too vague as to who he actually is and you MUST read the anthology Holidays are Hell to have a clue about him at all. You won't regret. That made it well worth the read.What I found a little frustrating was the repetition of some of the concepts - not as though for reinforcement alone, but more as though sections were taken from a blog, or articles, and combined to make a book. He carefully examines several of Welch's key initiatives: turning the GE hierarchy on its head (1989), launching the "employee-driven quality" campaign throughout GE (1995), introducing the product services movement (also 1995), and GE's "e-Initiative" (1999).
